How do I set it to allow vendors to manage their products in my store?

How do you set it so that you allow people who have access to your zen cart (i'm talking about zen being used for a digital scrap website, and the different designers can access zen to load their products) only certain access that pertains to what they can do instead of the whole thing?

This feature is not available in ZC, and would not be easy to accomplish - even with significant custom coding.

Isn't there a mod in the Downloads section that allows multiple admins to access the backend of the site, with different privileges?

Have a look in Downoads, under the Admin heading and see what you can find. The one I'm thinking of is called Admin Profiles, but there may be others. I've never used this mod but it may do what you want.

Rob

Hear reports (couple of years ago) that this admin mod did not work. Additionally, it was designed to restrict access to certain functions, not PARTS of functions.

msyeller wants something that restricts visibility/accessibility by product ranges, which I think drills down too far for the admin profiles mod.

If this feature is important enough to you, you might consider hiring Kuroi to extend Admin Profiles to cover categories/products.

He could at least tell you definitively if it is possible or practical.

You can also hire me.
But like others said, it is not an easy task and should not be done if it isn't REALLY necessary.
If you still are interested, pm me.

Re: How do I set it to allow vendors to manage their products in my store?

I'm having a site like what you want made by a programming company. I managed to ge it done quite cheap (it is still been made) only because they have someone else who wants one as well and they want to market that type of site, but I was quoted AU$20,000 by one company and AU$100,000 by another which I thought was definitely a bit much. It is not the same as a shopping cart at all but yet it is.
