Tax is being added to the gross price

I have set my prices to display prices with tax. I input the product price as gross. The price in the shop show the gross price, but when I add to cart and go to checkout it adds VAT again - what am I doing wrong? Any help would be great, I'm getting really frustrated!

When you ADD a product, set the tax class to --none-- (If your prices INCLUDE tax and you don't want tax to be added at checkout.)

You probably have a tax class set as "vat" or "taxable goods" or similar.... and when you're adding a new product, you're setting the tax class for that product as "vat" - or "taxable goods"

If all your products have been added to the database with a tax class, then you can use EasyPopulate to do a mass update to change your products' tax class to --none-- .

Go to one of your products (in admin, to edit it).

Change the tax class to --none--.

Go to your shop and add that product ONLY, to a basket.

Go to checkout.

See if VAT is now being added. (It shouldn't, for that product)

I assume EasyPopulate is 3rd party software? Where can I find it - can you post a link? thanks
