I have a problem with Featured Products

Hello,

My name is Chris Niblett, and I own Abstract Auto Works (https://www.AbstractAutoWorks.com).

I have setup the featured products, and I like it alot. But, I only want it to show on the main page, not my others, like "engine performance" and so forth.
I find that showing featured products on anything but the main page is distracting to the user. I have searched the forums and google, but I have found nothing regarding this.

Could somebody please point me to a thread on this, or tell me how to do it?

What happens when you change templates to Classic or Default,
does problem still appear?

Thanks for your reply, I have not tried this, but I will later, I dont have time right now. Even if it did "fix" the problem, I do not want to use the classic template. Do you have any other ideas or a link to this subject?

Try this setting:
Admin>Config>Index Listing>Show Featured Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories
Set to 0

I just tried that, and it turned off featured products on all pages including the main page. Perhaps this setting will work somehow involving the different sort orders? Can I set my pages (engine performance, etc.) to have different sort orders?

So maybe setting this to 1 put its on all pages, 0 turns it off, and when you set 2 or 3 it will display how I want?

I really have no idea, I am new to Zen Cart. I am just guessing at how this might work.

chris - in the admin panel, under configuration, index listing:

set the line "Show Featured Products on Main Page" to 1
set the other three lines that refer to Featured Products
("Show Featured Products on Main Page - Categories w/ SubCats",
"Show Featured Products on Main Page - Errors and Missing Product Page",
and "Show Featured Products - below product listing") to 0

this will display featured products on your main page, but not on others.
