What is wrong with my side menu??!

I have no idea why it now says BOX-INFORMATION-SIZE-CHART.

How do I change this menu? I know it should be fairly simple, but I am a total newbie and just fumbling my way around... I looked and couldn't find the a way to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Just a guess, but....
Look at your index.php file - check to see if you find this as a label in there.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

If you look at your index page source, you'll see that it's there because that's what you (or someone) coded there.

If you go to Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit and search for box_information_size_chart you'll find all the files that contain that string.
If it's been defined, you can change the definition in one of those files.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

Is that constant really:
BOX-INFORMATION-SIZE-CHART

You may wish to read up on them as constants are defined as:

The name of a constant follows the same rules as any label in PHP. A valid constant name starts with a letter or underscore, followed by any number of letters, numbers, or underscores. As a regular expression, it would be expressed thusly: [a-zA-Z_\x7f-\xff][a-zA-Z0-9_\x7f-\xff]*

You appear to have hyphens vs underscores and that deviates from the rules ...

More info on constants at:

No, her post was wrong - it's underscores.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

It looks like you’re trying to add a menu item to the Information sidebox. Is that correct? The label you gave your menu item is

BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE-CHART
which is not being defined. As for it looking like it’s part of your main page, I think it’s just bleeding into the main page because the label is so long, but I could be wrong.

How did you attempt to do this additional menu item? What steps have you done? Where have you put the text: BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE-CHART?

It seems you were able to add the “About Us” page. You may have missed some steps when adding the Size Chart page.

This FAQ article talks about that same situation, and might be worth a read:

Nope - didn't find this label in the index.php file.

Yes - I mean tot type underscores, not hyphens. :)

Still can't find it - maybe I will work on labels, or trying to figure out how to change the text on the front page.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE_CHART is a title that you have added somewhere and most lkely to your english.php file or you have followed some other 3rd party module install instructions - None the less it is displaying the constant value du to some error in it's definition.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

The problem is I can't find the file. I have looked (twice) in about 3 files that say english.php and still can't find it. ???!!

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

Would all the files be under public_html? or should I start looking in all the other folders as well?

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

The only files that can interact with the web are in /public_html/, so you shouldn't have to look outside of that.

To find the file where BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE_CHART is (trying to be) defined, go to admin > Tools > Developers Toolkit and paste BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE_CHART (exactly the way it is appearing to you) in the bottom left box, select all files and search.
The results will include the file where it is defined.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

THANK you. :)
I will keep searching, but I swear I have been through all of them - even the ones that don't say english.php

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

Go to your Zen Cart Admin area. Then go to: Tools->Developers Tool Kit

In the "Look-up in all files" area type in BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE_CHART in the Key or Name field. Choose All Files - Catalog/Admin on the drop-down menu then click Search. You should be given results where you put the BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE_CHART text in your zen cart.

Sorry - I was typing at the same time you were Glenn

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

OMG - you guys rock. That was totally easy. I wish I knew that hours ago. :) Another painful lesson. :) (I think someone tried to get me to do this earlier, but I didn't know exactly where to go... I am lame that way.)

Now that I have found it, I am not sure what to do with it. Can I or should i take it out completely? Because when I click on it (on the site) I get a 404 error message.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

My guess is I shouldn't remove it - it is the only one that says "unset" while the other are "if"

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

I would like the side menu to have my "fabrics" and "yarns" tabs - can I just change the BOX_INFORMATION_SIZE_CHART to the fabrics, and add the "yarns" one underneath it?

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

You may opt to leave the Information sidebox alone, once you get that text removed that is currently on there that you tried to ad. Then think about using the ez-pages feature for all the extra pages you want to make. I have not done ez-pages but there are plenty here that have.

Just my suggestion. You can use the same search feature to find your HOME_PAGE_TITLE area that seems to not be properly defined.

I don't think I can help you much more than the suggestions I have done. I will gracefully bow out now.

Re: What is wrong with my side menu??!

Actually, I didn't ad t hat - I have no idea where it came from. I took this template (custom) from my old site, and it never had this on there, so I am not sure what happened.

I also want to remove the "privacy" option, and maybe ad more - ? I would think this sort of thing should be fairly easy (no?) but I just have no idea how to do it.
