HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Hey there,

So I looked into your source code and you should be looking for this:

<!--eof-navigation display--> <!--bof-branding display--> <div id="logoWrapper"> <div id="logo"><a href="http://www.mishutkadesign.com//"><img src="includes/templates/MDS/images/" alt="" /></a></div> </div> <br class="clearBoth" /> <!--eof-branding display-->

it should be in the tpl.Header.php section. Delete out the div with the logowrapper. Since you already have the header, the code above is pointing to an image folder but no image file so it will show a blank space making it look as if it is cutting off the body and the header. once you delete the whole div section for the logoWrapper, you should be all ready to go.

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Thank you :smile:

All of you guys have been such a great help! I'm more used to a regular HTML structure, and ZC templates are very different in how parts of the site relate to each other. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not...

Speaking of not-so-obvious... I started populating my site with info using EZ-pages (which seems to work well so far). But is there a way NOT to have an EZ-page heading displayed on a page? If you look here, you'll see my problem:

http://www.mishutkadesign.com//index.php?main_page=page&id=2

I have two headings, and I'd love to have the image one if I can. Any ideas? A huge, huge thanks to everyone here for your input and support!!!

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

There is not a built-in way to discriminate based on individual ez-pages, but Smart Backgrounds can help.
After you install the mod, if you save an image file corresponding to each ez-page you want to modify, there will be a class in the body referring to that page. For your example, ez-page #2, save a file named smartbg_page2.gif (it doesn't matter what it looks like), and then add to your stylesheet```
/hide h1 for ez-page id 2/
.smartBG_page2 h1#ezPagesHeading {display: none;}

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Thanks, Glenn! I followed your instructions in the mod and in the e-mail, but no image appeared and H1 is not disabled. I think I put the declarations in the right place in my stylesheet, but maybe not? :dontgetit Thanks!

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

I see you saved the smartbg_page2.gif in the correct folder, and the stylesheet declarations are correct.
This may be due to a typo I noticed in the Smart BG ez-pages code. The line that reads
$unique_ezpages == true;
should be
$unique_ezpages = true;

The == only tests, it doesn't set the value. Change that and I believe it will work correctly. If so, I will post the fix to the mod in Downloads.

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Thanks, Glenn. Did that, nothing changed. This is what tpl_main_page.php code looks like now:

<?php //Smart Backgrounds $smart_image = ''; $unique_ezpages = true;//change to false to not have diff bg for each ezpage if ($current_page_base = 'index' or $current_page_base = 'product_info') { //add _ and top cat id to bg filename only if cat bg image exists $smart_image = (file_exists(DIR_WS_TEMPLATE_IMAGES . 'smartbg_' . str_replace(strstr($_GET[cPath],'_'),'',$_GET[cPath]) . '.gif'))?'_' . str_replace(strstr($_GET[cPath],'_'),'',$_GET[cPath]):''; } elseif ($current_page_base = 'page' and $unique_ezpages = true) { //add _page and ez-page id to bg filename only if cat bg image exists $smart_image = (file_exists(DIR_WS_TEMPLATE_IMAGES . 'smartbg_page' . $_GET[id] . '.gif'))?'_page' . $_GET[id]:''; } else { //add _ and page base to bg filename only if page bg image exists $smart_image = (file_exists(DIR_WS_TEMPLATE_IMAGES . 'smartbg_' . $current_page_base . '.gif'))?'_' . $current_page_base:''; //default/home page class will be just .smartBG, and filename smartbg.gif }// /Smart Backgrounds?> <body id="<?php echo $body_id . 'Body'; ?>" class="smartBG<?php echo $smart_image;?>"<?php if($zv_onload !='') echo ' onload="'.$zv_onload.'"'; ?>>

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Sure; here it is:

<?php
//Smart Backgrounds
$smart_image = '';
$unique_ezpages = true;//change to false to not have diff bg for each ezpage
if ($current_page_base == 'index' or $current_page_base == 'product_info') { //add _ and top cat id to bg filename only if cat bg image exists
$smart_image = (file_exists(DIR_WS_TEMPLATE_IMAGES . 'smartbg_' . str_replace(strstr($_GET[cPath],'_'),'',$_GET[cPath]) . '.gif'))?'_' . str_replace(strstr($_GET[cPath],'_'),'',$_GET[cPath]):'';
} elseif ($current_page_base == 'page' and $unique_ezpages == true) { //add _page and ez-page id to bg filename only if cat bg image exists
$smart_image = (file_exists(DIR_WS_TEMPLATE_IMAGES . 'smartbg_page' . $_GET[id] . '.gif'))?'_page' . $_GET[id]:'';
} else { //add _ and page base to bg filename only if page bg image exists
$smart_image = (file_exists(DIR_WS_TEMPLATE_IMAGES . 'smartbg_' . $current_page_base . '.gif'))?'_' . $current_page_base:''; //default/home page class will be just .smartBG, and filename smartbg.gif
}// /Smart Backgrounds?>
<body id="<?php echo $body_id . 'Body'; ?>" class="smartBG<?php echo $smart_image;?>"<?php if($zv_onload !='') echo ' onload="'.$zv_onload.'"'; ?>>

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Not sure what it was that I saw before, but now when I try to look directly at the image (http://www.mishutkadesign.com//includes/templates/MDS/images/smartbg_page2.gif) I get a 404 Not Found. (Same with only one / after mishutkadesign.com.) If the file is not in that location, the Smart BG code will not see it.

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

This is lame, but I had a typo in the filename. Fixed the typo; now the EZ page heading is hidden (yeah!) -- but the image heading is still not there.

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

I got the image to appear by shortening the image path in the stylesheet. But now this background is repeating itself all over the place ;-)

Add:

background-repeat: no-repeat;

to your declaration.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: HTML-designed site and Zen cart?

Hey , I think the image is in fact there, but its behind that other image you have on your site...

if you right click on the buddy and select view background, you will see the customer case smart bg background.

try to delete the sub_masthead.jpg and tell me if you see the other smart image under it

contact me if you need any help.
