moving a page from EZ-page line to main nav line

Hi, all -

In the interest of simplifying my page's appearance a bit, I'm trying to eliminate the EZ-pages line. One thing that is in there is my privacy notice. Is there some slick way to move that to the main navigation banner?

Thanks.

Re: moving a page from EZ-page line to main nav line

Bump?

I've tried to ask this question (and similar ones) before, but with little response, so I guess I'm not being clear.

What I'm trying to do is simplify/reduce the number of navigation bars on my site.
What I'm trying to find out is:

  1. is this coding, or done via the cpanel?
  2. if it's coding, where do the relevant files exist?

Thanks for any elucidation...

I'd be interested to know how to do it too.

THanks.

Re: moving a page from EZ-page line to main nav line

go into admin-tools-ezpages and make a test page, set it up so that links from the header.

now run the page in your browser. right click on the browser page and view the 'source' . look for something like this

<!--bof-header ezpage links--> <div id="navEZPagesTop">

<a href="http://localhost/latest_test_site/xxx.php">testpage</a>

</div> <!--eof-header ezpage links-->

will show your link. You now have the link to the ezpage, and can realistically move it where you like. Go back to ezpages and remove the test link....

as for privacy notice....

you dont need an ezpage link to your privacy notice. If you use the information sidebox it has a link to privacy. switch it on using admin-tools-layoutboxes information. You can control the sidebox content by going to configuration-define-page status

Re: moving a page from EZ-page line to main nav line

You have to edit 2 files to make it look properly.

  1. in your template / your_template / tpl_header.php file move the code between the commented lines that show "<!--bof-header ezpage links-->" up into the <div> of the <!--bof-navigation display-->.

  2. Since it will look redicilous, you will also have to edit tpl_ezpages_bar_header.php too accordingly.

If you don't have these two php files in your template folder, make a copy from the default template.

If you know very little about coding or good with these stuff, you should be easily doing this change.:flex:
