Checkout button sends me back to "login" as a customer

I am testing my shopping cart since ill be launching next week.

i have set up my own account as if i was a customer.

i was trying to click "checkout" in which my site should have gone to the shipping option then to paypal.. but instead it kicked me back to the customer log in... it did this a few times and eqach time i logged in it counted me as a new person on the site (so now it shows 5 people are on the site.. but in reality they are all me)

any hints on how to fix this. This was not happening before my ssl was installed

Might look in Admin>Configuration>Sessions>Prevent Spider Sessions..........set to True.

Also, check your includes/configure.php and Admin/includes/configure.php to be sure there isn't anything not set correctly in there, paying close attention to the https:// settings, since you just installed your SSL.

I checked the spider settings.. itsw on true.. im wondering if the people who fixed this for me set that as well because the day this happened i also did notice spider activity on my site.. but from what i read.. that was not harmful .. maybe im wrong

also i checked Admin/includes/configure.php define this is what i have.. im guessing its correct...

is yours set to 'true' ?

yes it is set to 'true'

I was having a similar issue concerning the Shopping cart sidebox with checkout button and product image add-on. The checkout button in the sidebox would kick me to the login page. Take a look at this thread to see if it can be of assistance.
