Stock Attributes Vs Stock By Attributes

Hi, i was wondering what the difference is between stock attributes and stock by attributes?

I have Zen Cart 1.3.8a with stock by attributess installed. This works great accept i have to add the quantity for each different variant one at a time.

So will stockattributes 3.01 be compatable with my version of zencart, and can i install it whilst i still have stock by attributes installed? As up to now it has taken days to input all the data.

I downloade the multiadd update for stock by attributes, but that only allow u, to input the same quantity to all the variants.

will stockattributes 3.01 allow me to add quanity to each size quicker, or if anyone have any ideas how i can input the quantity for each size, i will be really much appreciated.

Re: Stock Attributes Vs Stock By Attributes

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. Iam selling shoes on my website each shoe has sizes 3,4,5,6,7,8 and the size ratios come in at 1,2,3,3,2,1 so u can imagine how long its going to take for each shoe, Please have a look at my website to get a jist of what iam talking about at https://www.shulab.co.uk

I was wondering if there was a more streamlined approach in adding the quantity for each variant.

Presently after addind the attributes with improved attribute controller, which i must say has made it so much quicker

I go to products with attributes stock, look for the product click on Add Quantity For Product Variant, then pick the size add the quantity click add, then wait for the page to refresh then look for the product again etc etc

I was wondering if it was possible to Add the Quantity For each Product variant all on 1 page? So on the page where there is one drop down menu, then there are multiple boxes asking quantity for each product.

Or if it could be uploaded through a database or something? I tried Easy populate and as i can see it, it only allows to add products and quantity but not for each variant. So i ended up in stocks with attributes displaying ":" as a variant. Taken me 3 days to rename all the variants.

Was wondering if everbody that uses zencart is inputting data this way?
Hope u will be able to suggest an alternative :D

Re: Stock Attributes Vs Stock By Attributes

If you are careful and Backup Backup your DB FIRST

You can use phpmyadmin to export a csv of the table and enter qty's in this way

FILES and DataBase information are totally seperate.

When I said backup - I meant your Database

Unfortunately as each item is unique and there is no pattern to add programatically, you are left to build this one at a time.
Excepting the csv method referenced earlier
