Defining weight in ounces

Hi all,

I need to define weight in ounces, since my maximum package weight is 9.5 oz.
USPS told me they truncate decimals and round up to next higher, so for them it would be 10 oz.
However, I need to enter exact weight for other shipping methods customers might choose.
I have read a thread about the files that I need to edit, however I am not sure this will fix my problem when connecting to USPS and UPS.
I see nowhere in the Admin where I can set this.
Configuration --> Shipping/Packaging only offers this option: Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship.
I entered 10, but this will be 10 what? lbs., oz?
Please clarify.

Zen Cart's weight are units. The label you use can be anything. So using 10 as the maximum can be 10 pounds if you use pounds or 10 stones if you use stones or ounces if you use ounces. You do have to use the same unit for everything though, you can not use pounds in one place and ounces in another.

So, customizing those 3 files mentioned in the thread will suffice to make
8.37 (a real weight) appear as 8.37 ounces to USPS, UPS or, eventually, FedEx?

Several days have passed, and since I have not yet received a complete answer to my question, I guess I'll have to answer it myself.
First, the answer is really covered very completely in ch. 8 of the ZC manual: Weighting Unit. Kudos to the author.
Ah! If everybody would buy the manual (and read it!) instead of asking silly questions in the forums!
But, I'll excuse myself from this one, I am really in a tough situation.
Now, let me stress the last part of my question, which the author also addresses in his text.
USPS and UPS use 16 oz. pounds for their shipping calculators, so, when you connect to their APIs, if you entered 20 for weight, even if you "labeled" as kgs., the APIs will read it as 20 lbs.
Conclusion: it is best not to mess up with ZC core files if you are in the US or any other country that uses the Imperial system, the default ZC weight is lbs.
Just convert your weight to lbs., or fraction thereof, and enter that weight at the product level.
You can always enter the weight you want to show to customer in the product description, the product level weight doesn't show there.
Ajeh suggested to write a function to convert your desired weight to pounds.
Although this wouldn't be much of a hassle, I prefer to simply use...a calculator.
