Zone Rate plus a percent?

I am setting up the shipping using the Zone Rates module. Besides the weight ranges to determine prices, I need to add an extra 0.6% of the $ total of the sale to pay the shipping insurance. How can I do this? Thanks in advance!

You can customize the shipping module you are using for this ...

I recommend cloning the shipping module first, then customizing that one so you do not have your code overwritten on future upgrades ...

Look in the shipping module for where the rate is determined and you will see:

    $order_total_amount = $_SESSION['cart']->show_total() - $_SESSION['cart']->free_shipping_prices() ;

I look and look and still can't figure out well how to implement the extra 0.6% for the insurance in the shipping module. I was wondering if it'd be better to implement it with an Order Total module.

I ended up adding it in the file you mentioned, at the end of the weight method case.

// Here we'll add the shipping insurance 0.6%. ~Anguz
$shipping += $_SESSION['cart']->show_total() * 0.006;
