Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

Hello,

We are implementing zen-cart 1.3.8a (hosted @ Media Temple) and are going to use payflow pro.
I see that the latest version in the downloads area is 1.3d but there is mention of a newer version in this post from almost 6 months ago:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=481988#post481988

Should I use the newer version? And if so how do I setit up (since there is no readme file)?
Should I just use the instructions from 1.3d?
What about running the SQL script?
And the additional folders such as
bin
certs
lib
(I assume I dont need these from some statements made in the thread mentioned above)
What about the extra_datafiles?

Sorry if this got confusing.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

It looks like you'll need to install the files and SQL patch from the 1.3d version in Downloads, and then upload the files DrByte posted in the thread you referenced.

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

The code posted here is the latest published Payflow Pro module code, which works by simply installing the files (after unzipping) onto a v1.3.8 site.
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=481988#post481988
It is independent of the older Payflow Pro module in the downloads area -- ie: there is no need to install the one from the downloads area.

Dr.,

When you say "installing" you mean just FTPing the includes directory (and all sub directories and files) into my current directory (which will overwrite or add any files as necessary).
As simple as a drag and drop (in a graphical FTP program)?

After doing this, the module will show up in the admin and all I will have to do is add my parameters?

Sorry for all of the questions. It just sounds too easy!
Hopefully it is

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

Yes.

The zip has a folder structure. Just upload the new files into the same folder structure on your site.

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

OK.
I have uploaded the files and I see the module in the payments section in my admin.

However, I am not sure how I test this to make sure it is working properly.
My client has given me the proper credentials and I have logged into the paypal manager.

I would like to see how a real transaction (and a test) will look.

Also, I was told that I need to pass an order ID to paypal, so that they will be able to manually identify these transactions. I assumed this was already going to happen, but they mentioned something about it being in a comments field.
Is this already happening?
If not, will I be able to use your mod to do this?
(you can see why I need to test)

I configured your mod with "sandbox" mode, but I dont have a sandbox account and my initial review of paypal's sandbox leads me to believe that this may be overkill for me. Hopefully there is an easier way.
I did see something in the paypal documentation about pointing to a different URL for testing, but I dont know where that configuration is in your mod. (and I dont know what that different URL would do for me anyways, since the paypal docs were not that descript)

My biggest issue right now is time, in that I need to have this up and running by the end of the week.

Thanks again,

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

I am using the latest version of Dr. Byte's payflow pro (the one that is not in the downloads area but in a forum post... I dont have the link right now, but if someone needs it, just let me know). It is the version that works with 1.3.8a.

I want to test it, but dont know how to set this up without making any errors.

Is there any documentation? Or can anyone help me out?

I am looking for information on how to set it up properly and then test it to make sure that it is running correctly.

Any assistance whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

I have spent hours on the forums, sifting through pages and pages of posts, but they all seem to be beyone what I am looking for. Maybe I just havent found the right post or I am not searching correctly.
Thanks,

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

If you have a "live" account, and put the module in "live" mode, then the easiest way to test is to just do a transaction.

I will attempt that tomorrow morning (i have to take a break at some point) lol

I assume that I should just setup a $.01 item and do the test? and then see what happens in the paypal manager?

I guess one of the issues that i am having is that I did not set up the paypal account, someone else did and just gave me the info, so I am not familiar with all of the functionality within that control panel.

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

A 0.01 or 1.00 product is a good test point.
You can do a refund from the Payflow account console, so you won't be "out" any money.

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

The transaction appears to have processed, however I do not have an order # or order ID to tie this transaction in paypal back to the order in zen-cart.

I was told that I need to send an identifiying code to one of the comments fields in paypal. How would I do this?

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

Do you see a transaction number and/or confirmation in the order's comments in Zen Cart?

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

I do get a transaction ID that shows up both in the Paypal manager and the ZenCart admin.

Here is what is in the comments(ID codes were hidden by me for this public forum post):
Transaction ID: VLCA********
AuthCode: 0*****
Payment Type: Credit Card
Timestamp: 2008-06-10 06:38:36
Payment Status: Completed
AVS Code: AVSADDR: N, AVSZIP: N, IAVS: N
CVV2 Code: Y
Amount: 0.01 USD

But I would like to tie together the invoice # from zen-cart. Because the transaction ID can change, for instance from a refund.

Is this possible? I want to send the invoice number into the paypal COMMENT1 field, if possible.
I did a refund through zen-cart and noticed that the credit created a note in the COMMENT2 field that stated "Refunded by store administrator."

Also, I noticed that when I did the refund the order disappeared out of the ORDERS section and was moved to the Paypal IPN section in zen-cart. Why is this?

This system is going to have two (or more) different individuals which manage separate portions. One group will manage zen-cart and a different group will manage the paypal manager. I need to make sure that these people can communicate properly about the orders and transactions.

Re: Latest Version of PayFlow Pro?

Zen Cart does not generate an order number until after the payment is completed. Thus, it cannot send the actual order number with the payment request.

You could fudge it to "guess" what the next order number would be, but that leaves it open to duplicates if two customers complete a payment at the same instant.

As for the order disappearing from the orders section ... that shouldn't happen. It didn't "move" anywhere ... but it probably got a new order-status number set based on the module's settings which may mismatch vs the rest of your order status choices. Go into the module settings in your zc admin and select the appropriate order-status options for approved and refunded transactions.

Are you saying that when a customers hits the Thank You page, and gets an order number, the card has been processed from paypal. So it is too late to send anything since I have already completed my transaction with paypal before the order # is generated?
If this is the case, how will someone in my paypal manager with a transaction ID, be able to find the order in my zen cart admin? They cannot search in zen cart for the Transaction ID.

I will check the refund and see what happened with that. something must have happened with order-status options.
