Remove Date of Birth Format check

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use the 'date of birth' customer signup field for a resellers license ID. And I'd like to remove the format check. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I should start?

Instead, modify your database to add this field. Overloading DOB to have different semantics is sure to cause you grief at upgrade time if it's displayed/manipulated/used in a different way in the next release.

Thanks for the response swguy. A little confusing. Two other posts telling people to do it like that instead..

Man, I wish there was actual functionality to add extra fields to signup for catalog and admin.

I will try and find a new way.
