Promotions and specials

Hi,
most of the products in my catalog have different discounts each month, however i don´t want them to show on the specials page as i also have different promotions each month that i want to show under specials.

Is there any way to be able to put discounts on the products while not having them show up under specials so that only my promotions appear on specials.

The promotions are packs of products which i add each month, whereas the discounts are existing products which price changes from time to time.

Hope thats clear and hope someone can tell me its possible.

Sorry, think i may have figured out how to go about it. I´m going to take the specials list off of the index and other pages, put my discounted products in under specials. Then my promotions will be a product category and listed under featured.

Any other suggestions most welcome though,
