Re: Emergency - Please Help I Beg

Either you have changed your configure files so that they can't find your database any more (in which case undo whatever you did) OR your MySQL server has gone away (connect your web host to ask why) OR your web host has changed how you connect to your database (ask them why and why didn't they warn you). Unless you know otherwise, the second is the most likely.

Re: Emergency - Please Help I Beg

OK. That's a pretty big clue. This mod is not recommended and has the following warning at the top and bottom of its description in the downloads section> *** WARNING *** USE AT OWN RISK *** MANY WHO HAVE INSTALLED THIS MOD HAVE HAD COUNTLESS TROUBLES AND ODD STORE BEHAVIOR *** INSTALL ONLY ON A TEST SITE *** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ***

One of the things it does is add code to the includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php file. This is a key file necessary for reading the database, the place where your problems are occurring.

However, as the mod is not being kept up-to-date, the code in the mod's version does not include everything that Zen Cart 1.3.8 needs. Which could have been your initial problem (or one of them). If you then deleted this file and didn't replace it with the proper Zen Cart one, then I would expect your cart to fall apart.

So first step: get a clean release pack for the version of Zen Cart that you are using and restore the Zen Cart version of query_factory.php.

Re: Emergency - Please Help I Beg

You can find out what version of Zen Cart you are running by going directly into your database using a tool such as phpMyAdmin and looking at the project_version_major and project_version_minor fields in the project_version table.

If you are running 1.3.6 then this would further explain your difficulties as the mod was written for a later version of Zen Cart (1.3.7) and messes about somewhat with core code.

I would recommend anybody else reading this thread not to go anywhere near this mod. It went through about 25 releases in quick success to fix bugs, yet when I skim through it, there are still some elementary errors in how the files are structured and it is certainly incompatible with the current version of Zen Cart (1.3.8).

To repair this would take a high degree of skill and may even not be possible. So I'm going to recommend something that is rarely necessary, but in this case seems like the route most likely to succeed, and that's to go back the back-up that hopefully you took prior to installing it.

Re: Emergency - Please Help I Beg

A good Hoster can provide you with a recent backup of your site. Not sure how old it would be but might save you some time. Ask and see what they say.

Re: Emergency - Please Help I Beg

kuroi has already proved the best info/solution to your problem.

If you cannot find or obtain a previous backup of your database -- and your current one is really important to you -- then someone will have to sort things out manually. Not sure how long that would take but you can make a request for paid help in the Commercial Section of the Forum.
