How can I add shipping option to a download

hello,
I have searched, but have found nothing to answer this.
I am setting up a store that will be offering both download and hardcopy sheet music. I know this is probably odd, but some have asked if I could do this for them.
So basically I can do the option of download, but cannot figure out how to add a hardcopy choice to the drop down menu for options.

I hope i explained this correct :unsure:

Add one Option Name as:
Sheet Music

Add two Option Values as:
Download
Hard Copy

Now the Attribute with the Download "knows" it is a Download and the Attribute as Hard Copy "knows" it requires shipping ... :smile:

To avoid errors on this, you might add a third Option Value as:
Select your choice ... (or something)
Default YES
Sort Order YES
Display Only YES

this makes the customer pick the "right" one for them ...

ok so now that i have proper options, our download is free, but we wish to charge for the hard copy. I have tried adding the price to the attribute, but it still comes up free.....

How did you configure this?

If you mean Free as in Free Shipping, then you have marked the Product as Virtual and it is not ...

Or, you have marked the Product as Always Free Shipping, and it is not ...

Or, you have 0 weight and have defined 0 weight as Free Shipping, and it is not ...

I figured it out actually :)
We only wanted to charge for the hardcopy for shipping and all.

What was the magic bullet on this one that would be a wealth of help to others in the same predicament as you? :smile:

We are offering a few lesson downloads for free, but wanted to charge for a hardcopy to be mailed to cover the paper, large envelope etc.
I had to go in to the attribute and price the hardcopy, change the attribute is free when product is free to no, click update and viola! done :)
