i am not sure if i worded search the right way but i would like to add subcategories
and 2 nd ?
how do i add a was price along side my price
all help would be great thanks

You need to have a category without products in it to add subcategories. Categories cannot safely hold both products and categories, due to the structure of Zen Cart.
For the price, set your regular price to the "was" price, and put the products on special or sale. There are numerous tweaks you can make in admin to the way this is displayed, and you can change wordings in language file defines.
