Can 2 Products share stock levels?

Hello! im an old cc user and new to zencart but so far its 300% better!!

I have a question... I sell custom shirts in my store. I have the Stock by attribute mod installed and working great. My question is this: Can say Product A share the same stock level as Product B? When i sell product A Product B's stock is lowered also.

This is why im asking...
I carry blank shirts but will make a few different designs on them. I setup a product per design but share the same blank t-shirt stock.

It sounds like you actually have one product - a blank shirt to which you add customisations (attributes). Structure you product in this way and Zen Cart can handle it; but splitting a product into pieces and then trying to link them back together again, isn't supported.

Re: Can 2 Products share stock levels?

I'm working through this same problem. I'm selling shirt designs with the option to have the design on multiple color/size options.

I see how the last suggestion will work but then my cart becomes a shirt selling cart rather than a design selling cart.

Anyone have any ideas on how to share attribute stock?

Re: Can 2 Products share stock levels?

I've figured it out. I found a non-descript little module called "Attributes Separate Stock". All it does is add a Quantity column in the Atrribute Value Manager where you add your stock for each attribute value. Each time an item is ordered with that attribure value, it deducts it from the quantity. When the quantity reaches 0, the attribute value is no longer a listed option.

This is eaxactly what I needed. The only tweak I want to make is rather than not list the out of stock value, I want to list it (I use radio options) but disable the radio and add "Out of Stock" with the option value.

Here is the "Attributes Separate Stock"
