Re: How to ensure only customer with authentic e-mail can register?

Zen Cart checks that the email address given is well-formed, i.e. that it obeys the structural rules that all emails must obey. However, there is no central register of valid email addresses for it to check against.

To achieve this check therefore, you would need to send a confirmatory email to the address given, and only up new users if that email is responded to.

I am not aware of a Zen Cart mod to do this, probably because it is the opposite of what we're usually trying to do in e-commerce, namely lower the barriers to starting a relationship with a site's visitors.

Thanks kuroi.

i am not a programmer so i hope someone here can contribute to this. Actually, i like people coming to my site but its annoying and make me nervous when i get a visitor signing in as customers and gave us an e-mail like [email protected] or [email protected]. many questions arise..are they spying? trying to hack etc.

btw, good luck to you. thanks again
