Imported products with mysql but not showing!

Hey everyone,

I recently dumped about 200 products into the mySQL products table, as well as as the product_descriptions table, both tables already had existing data, so I was adding on to the list.

In the .CSV files that I dumped everything is filled out, and setup 100% correctly, yet the new products that I dumped in do not show up on the site, or the admin sections.

I'm browsing them in phpMyAdmin the list that I dumped in, are identical in structure to the existing products that are working and displaying on the site.

Here is a link to a zip file with the 2 tables I added...

Is there something that I missed, or perhaps, there are other tables that need to be modified when dumping products in? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

If you look in the products_table at one of the new products via phpMyAdmin, can you copy and past the products_date_added field here?

Re: Imported products with mysql but not showing!

Hi Ajeh, thanks for your reply. The entire column value for products_date_added is "0000-00-00 00:00:00". This is even for the old products that work.

I noticed something strange...If you go to the site I'm working on...On the Index New Product Listing it actually shows all the new products, I can tell because all the new products do not have images, and the old ones do...However if you go to the category, you will not see the new products listed...

So they are definatley in the system, yet they don't show in admin, or the categories... Any idea?

The zip I attached is in CSV so you can easily open it in excel to see.

Any other ideas would greatly be appreciated, thanks!!

Re: Imported products with mysql but not showing!

If you didn't put those products into categories, they won't follow any of the normal display rules. The products_to_categories table contains those linkages.

Re: Imported products with mysql but not showing!

Check your files and see what their master_categories_id are set to ... as DrByte indicated if the products are not added in right not a lot can show ...

If the dates are all 00-00-00 on the products_date_added then those really are not true dates so nothing is going to work right with New Products other than if you have show all products as New Products because there aren't dates to work from ...

NOTE: if your products_price_sorter isn't there then your searches on products by price cannot work and any sorting by price cannot work either ...

Sounds like a case of bad data ... :lamo:

Re: Imported products with mysql but not showing!

Alrighty... So I was able to fill out the "products_to_categories" table and now it works, finally.... That's why I asked if I missed any required tables, not sure how I missed that one, thanks DrByte....

Why does Zencart have Master Category ID in the products table and a seperate product to category ID in another?

Ajeh, thanks for the suggestions, however that other data you mentioned is only optional in order to see the products displaying on the site in their categories, etc...

Anyway my problem has been solved :)

Thanks for your help, you two are like king and queen zen, hehe...I can always count on ya!

The master is only used in order to determine the "master" if a product is linked to more than 1 category. This is primarily used with SaleMaker sales etc.

So, that means you should make sure the master is set to something other than 0. You can have it do that via Admin->Tools->Store Manager->Reset Master Categories ID
