unable to change "Congratulations" menu

I have been following the tutorial here about replacing the text in the index.php with my own text to get rid of the "Congratulations- you have installed....." message. When I change the text and upload the new file my entire site dissapears. If I cahnge the text back to theirs then it shows back up. What am I doing wrong???

Make sure you only change what is in between the pair of single quotes first and that you are making these changes using a plain text editor like notepad and not MS Word, frontpage, or any mis-behaved editor.

Retain the single quotes:

define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution.');

Exactly what are you trying to change the message to?

When you asked that I went and looked- I was trying to type text in with an apostrophe! That was the problem :) Is there a way to insert an apostrophe into the text?
