define_main_page not displaying

Hi guys,

I'm using the Cherry Zen template and I'm trying to put some new code (bg image and some buttons) on the homepage so I went into html_includes/cherry_zen and edited the main_page but it isn't displaying.

I know the code is working as it works in e-z pages.

I feel like this is something easy that I've missed and I have tried searching.

Could someone please advise?

I didn't include a link because there's nothing to see (just a blank page)... but here it is:

I had to put a category list back as it is a live site. When that is set to 0 all you can see is the Welcome messages

Well this confuses me as the main_page.php displays in the center of your layout so I do not understand your comment about having to put a category list back????

Also check your setting in
admin > config > Define Page Status > Define Main Page Status

Ah, that was it. Didn't have main page displaying in Config.
