Need Help with meta tags

Hello All
I'm trying to customize the Zen Cart!, The art of e-commerce tag

I've read a bunch of faqs and tutorials on here. I understand that I edit the meta_tags.php file and upload it to an override directory, which for me would be
includes/languages/english/darkness/meta_tags.php

However whenever i edit the file and upload it there my site shows up blank. If i just simply delete the meta_tags.php file from the darkness folder the site will show up again.

I've tried and tried and I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. Also I'm a newbie and this is the first override folder that i've created.

Chances are you're leaving spaces in the file. What program are you using to edit the meta_tags.php file?

Actually it wasn't a space, i had an 's in one of the tags so i guess that broke the code. I didn't notice that crimson color codes correct code until you asked what editor i used. thanks
