overnight shipping on select items?

is there a way to have overnight shipping on select items? and at the same time have ground shipping for everything, and free shipping on orders over $50?

the free ground shipping on everything else might be combined with the orders over $50. my boss wants all this so i don't have any more info.

id be using ups.
i have no idea if this is forced or not, its what my boss wants. maybe forced?
there is no weight assigned to any product, i'm not sure if he wants that listed either.

i'm sorry i know i have no info. i'd ask him but he wont know either, he just tells me what he wants in as little details as possible.

If you want to ship UPS then you have to know the weight of what is being shipped ... you do not have to show the weight anywhere but there has to be something for the weights to get the quotes made via UPS and they ship by weight ...

What I mean by forced vs optional is that if you just offer:
1 UPS
2 Free Shipping over $50.00

Then you want to determin if when there is Free Shipping over $50.00 if there is still the option for the UPS shipping methods ...

well when we ship things the ups ships properly so maybe the weight is internal.

i think its optional overnight shipping. or at least i'm assuming.

Go look in your Zen Cart Admin under the Modules ... Shipping ...

What shipping modules are installed?

flat rate
free shipping
ups
usps
per item
per unit
store pickup
table rate

i'm sorry i dont know which is the shipping. i've only played with the free shipping and the ups mods.

Look and see which has either a green or yellow dot vs the red dot that means not installed ...

On the ones with green or yellow dots, click on them and see which say that they are enabled ...

free shipping has a yellow dot
ups has a yellow dot
zone rates has a green dot

Okay ... on the Free Shipping, which one are you using? freeshipper or freeoptions?

Do you have Zones setup on the shipping modules with yellow dots? If so, why are you using Zones?

NOTE: If you have no weight and 0 weight is defined as Free Shipping you will only see Free Shipping ...

NOTE: If you have no weight and use UPS then it will only quote a rate for the minimum shipping allowed by UPS ... you really need Product Weight to get a valid UPS quote ...

i have zones because it wouldn't work any other way. i tried it without anything and it didnt work, kept giving me the error of we dont ship to your region. so i had to add a zone that listed every single state. there is also a zone for ohio tax that was installed there before i touched the site.

for the zone rates the calculation is weight so maybe its pre-entered?

i only work the zen cart area, my boss and a few others deal with the tables or whatever they have on the server.

ah then i should turn off the freeshipper. i didnt want to ship everywhere because we might have had some international customers and we dont ship there.

Sounds like you need custom code for your shipping then ... you may wish to post in the Commercial Help Wanted forum for this ...
