Specify Products on a line using grid product display, is this possible?

It's a bit difficult to explain what I want here so I'll give it my best shot.

What I idealy want to do, is to be able to display sets of product in rows down the page. I am selling products that come in groups of 5-7 and want to display them all on one line/row together but at the same time allow each one to be added to the basket individually without clicking any further (not just showing a catagory and an image of all five products).

Sort of like this

set a:1 2 3 4 5
set b:1 2 3 4 5 6 7
set c:1 2 3 4 5 6

I have already installed the column grid format module but because the amount of items in each set varies this is obviously much harder, or perhaps even impossible using zen cart. I am by no means a coder, much more a designer, I can get by pretty well in css, and have in the past edited bits of script but very little more. Am I being too ambitious?
