Improved SiteMap Display

Figured it out.. I was looking at the wrong query...

around line 92 find this:

// add product links
      if (SHOW_PRODUCT_LINKS_ON_SITE_MAP == 'Yes') {
      $product_sql = "select p.products_id, pd.products_name from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd, " .
      TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c
      where p.products_id = pd.products_id
      and p.products_id = p2c.products_id
      and p2c.categories_id = '" . $category_id . "'
      order by p.products_sort_order, pd.products_name";
```Make the changes highlighted below.. The changes below do the following:
1. Prevent the sitemap from displaying inactive products
2. Changes the sorting of the products so that they are sorted by name (which IMO is more logical than the current order by)
If you only want to stop the display of inactive products and retain the current sort order then do not make the change highlighted in blue
// add product links - CMJ 09/20/2009 modified to change sort order and exclude inactive products
if (SHOW_PRODUCT_LINKS_ON_SITE_MAP == 'Yes') {
$product_sql = "select p.products_id, pd.products_name from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd, " .
TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c
where p.products_id = pd.products_id
and p.products_id = p2c.products_id
and p2c.categories_id = '" . $category_id . "'
and p.products_status != '0'
order by pd.products_name, p.products_sort_order ";
```Hope this helps someone else..

Fine !
I added the language used in the query :

$product_sql = "select p.products_id, pd.products_name from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd, " .
                       TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c
                       where p.products_id = pd.products_id
                       **and pd.language_id = '" . (int)$_SESSION['languages_id'] . "'**
                       and p.products_id = p2c.products_id
                       and p2c.categories_id = '" . $category_id . "'
                       and p.products_status != '0'
                       order by pd.products_name, p.products_sort_order ";

So you obtain only 1 line !

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

I also installed the SitemapXML (formerly "Google Sitemap")

Maybe that causes the problem, but i invested that code, and can't find it

Maybe that causes the problem, but i invested that code, and can't find itThe SitemapXML is not related to this module at all. Both mods serve two different purposes and would not cause conflicts with one another.. A link to you site would help the community help you, and you still have not indicated whether or not you made any changes to this mod.

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

I didn't make any changes to the mod. I compared all the files, only stylesheet, is modified.

Sorry, cannot provide a link, it is installed local. When I find the solution, I will show it.

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

Hello! I'm using this mod and have it working just fine. Issue has been brought up from my SEO guy...We have Magic SEO URLs added on and this is what I've been told:

As far as I can see, the problem remains all those redirecting links. Google is unclear what your site structure is, so cannot award page rank.

Examples.

http://www.doodlebuckets.com/personalized-mommy-and-me-golden-splendor-p-2509.html
redirected to: http://www.doodlebuckets.com/personalized-mommy-and-me-golden-splendor-2509

redirected to: http://www.doodlebuckets.com/picnic-time-gift-basket-2163
status code: 301 (object permanently moved)

status code: 301 (object permanently moved)
linked from page(s):

There are literally hundreds of these.

All of these are from the sitemap, so this may be why I cannot get any Pagerank on my site and why we are a bit stagnant in SERPS. Any help on this? Thanks!

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

All the Improved Sitemap Dsiplay add-on does is add a few additional features to the default Zen Cart sitemap.. It has NOTHING to do with SEO.. I would suggest posting your query in a new thread so that SEO experts can help you sort out the issue..

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

It's in the code of the addon for the sitemap. It's not displaying the URLs that Magic SEO generates...

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

Your Sitemap is getting its links from the Product Listing page.

doodlebuckets . com/babies-255/baby-bunches-283/

Baby Bunch Bouquet - Boy Gift Basket
doodlebuckets . com/baby-bunch-bouquet-boy-gift-basket-p-2804.html

But when one uses the link and goes to the Product Description page, the URL is changed to:
doodlebuckets . com/baby-bunch-bouquet-boy-gift-basket-2804

The SiteMap module would appear to be working as it should. The URL problem is a result of the Magic SEO rewrite which is also causing Duplicate Content - which is bad.

The learning is in the doing.

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

Wow.. in fear of getting beaten up with bold red letters, I humbly ask everyone's advice. Now.. I want to first preface this with "I am not blaming Improved SiteMap Display, or ANY other module for that matter for the problem I'm having". I'm just seeking help.

The reason for my post in this thread is because I noticed the problem shortly after installing this module. Now, that's not to say it wasn't happening before, I just didn't notice it.

The problem is this:

Anytime someone tries to checkout with paypal, I am getting arrays in my Paypal_Action_EC*.log files for ALL categories, ALL subcats, and ALL products.

Why might it be related to Improved SiteMap? I don't know that it is, but I just find it strange that it is ALL products, all categories, etc. Basically it spits out everything one would expect, such as the cart total, contents, etc., and then goes into the "category_tree" array. The below is a snippet of this, showing the start, then I cut out a large section and show the tail end of log. This is creating 47,398 lines total in the log...> Apr-07-2010 09:35:27

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

This is a fairly simple mod that simply extends the default Zen Cart site map to include content it doesn't include by default..

  1. ability to display products as well as categories
  2. ability to display EZ-Page sidebox entries
  3. The tpl_site_map_default.php is structured the same way the information sidebox is setup
    I'm fairly confident that it doesn't affect any other modules. If you'd like to test this, then roll back to the default Zen Cart sitemap and see if the same issue you are currently having continue..

litepockets:

Wow.. in fear of getting beaten up with bold red letters, I humbly ask everyone's advice.

This is creating 47,398 lines total in the log...

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

Hi Diva,

Tried to roll back already. I figured it wasn't this mod, but just took the chance :) Thanks for your reply. I actually think Dr. Byte found my problem. Now I gotta fix it :)

Re: Improved SiteMap Display

Haha, :laugh:

Thank you :) Don't know if I could have taken it yesterday. I was kinda havin' a :censored: day. Hopefully I can find a solution today and all will be well again.
