Empty Cart Manager [support thread]

Hi,

After taking a look, I'm not sure exactly what could be causing those issues. You would have to contact the person who wrote that particular code.

Until that happens, I suggest uninstalling the mod and installing v1.0 as that works absolutely fine.

P.S. There is no v2.0

Re: Empty Cart Manager [support thread]

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the prompt response! I'll uninstall version 1.2 and install the older version as recommended.

Re: Empty Cart Manager [support thread]

Update:

The issue wasn't with the mod version 1.2 - I wanted to stop back and make that clear for folks wanting to use the most recent version at some point in the future so they won't think the mod has issues.

Something was bugging me about this issue, so before uninstalling and replacing with an earlier version, I did some code comparison between what was on my server and the original files before I customized them for my store, and another comparison between my customized back ups and what was currently on the server.

I have no explanation for how it happened, but at least now I know what did happen.

Somehow, the code from the language file was altered to include both forms rather than the modified form I had created. Further, the altered code contained incorrect php syntax, which is what was causing code to appear on the form page in the first place.

There was no opening php tag, and was also closed improperly.

I deleted the code and put back the original code from my initial modifications, made a few tweaks to the language to represent changes I had been wanting to make anyway, and voila!

The form is now displaying properly and is quite beauteous!

Re: Empty Cart Manager [support thread]

Me too!

Further research indicates the issue is somehow related to the Define Pages Editor in the Admin. As long as a copy of define_empty_cart_manager.php resides only in includes/languages/english/html_includes/My_Custom_Folder/ then everything is fine. However, if I leave a copy of it in includes/languages/english/html_includes/ then the code is corrupted in the Define Pages Editor.

I have no idea why, and it shouldn't matter because the file should be called from my custom folder...but for whatever reason, mine was being called from the other folder (where the corrupted code was), and therefore improperly displaying.

So my solution was to simply remove that copy of the file, as for me it is an unnecessary duplication.

Since having a file in that location is necessary for being able to edit the file using the Define Pages Editor in the Admin, this solution might not be the best for those who rely heavily on being able to edit files that way.

But for me, that makes no difference because I can just as easily edit the file on my server or on a local copy - which is pretty much what I do anyway.

So it's all good

Re: Empty Cart Manager [support thread]

I took a look at this mod, but there is something that isn't clicking with me. The Mod appears to be triggered by an empty cart. But, what customers actually empty their cart before leaving? Most just close the browser window and leave.

Have other who have installed this mod actually had customers utilize the contact forms?

Yes I have but not as much I would like. I would like to see it redirect them before they left but it doesn't.

Is your site Upgraded to the current version 1.5.4 Yet?

Hi All,

Is there a way to shorten the re-direct interval ?

Cheers!

Re: Empty Cart Manager [support thread]

Sure, in the following file, find the block of code starting with <!-- BEGIN Empty Cart Manager 1/1 -->

includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

Change the 5 in the code 5*1000 to however many seconds you want.

Then you will also want to update the language define in:
includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/cart_manager_defines.php
