Can Zencart Do This?

I am new to ecommerce and am looking for a system which will do specific things. Can you tell me if zencart can do this please:

1. I sell memberships and paying members will get discounts in the shop so I need a shop platform which will allow me to sell products to members at a certain price but a different price to non members.

2. I do not want to force people to create an account in order to make a sale.

3. If I want to operate several shops, members only need one username and password for all of them.

4. UK specific set up. Most seem to be geared for the US.

5. Integrates into Drupal CMS system or another powerful CMS

6. Adds a handling fee plus a weight based postage

7. Itemises the fees in the checkout so people can see what they are spending money on and what charges have been added.

1. Memberships are not a native feature of Zen Cart, but you can sell memberships as virtual products, and add customers to discount groups when they buy a membership.

2. There are mods available to make "accounts" optional or not used. You can also change the text around the customer info forms to make it seem friendlier in whatever way you want.

3. There is a MultiSite module in Downloads which is geared to this.

4. There is a package for UK specialization also in Downloads.

5. There are no CMS integrations at present. Zen Cart includes some basic CMS functions.

6)There are many shipping calculation options, probably including what you want.

7. The checkout is itemized and should give the info you want. Anything can also be customized, as you have complete access to the code and can edit it or hire changes to be made for your needs. You can get a lot of help in the forum, too.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any way to charge for the memberships and make the purchasing available only to members. By this I mean to make the Account creation part work only if someone has paid to be registered?

I know this sounds a little odd but I want to make the memberships invitation only then have a heavily discounted price for members.

For Non members I want them to be able to buy at the full retail price without being forced to create an account.

I also want to show dual prices - one at the non member rate and what it would have cost had they been members.

Can Zencart do this?

The discount groups automatically give the "member" price to customers you put in the group. This could be customized to automatically add a customer to the group once a membership is purchased. (This, of course, would absolutely require a login account.)

The "Checkout Without Account" mod will allow for non-member purchases.

The dual prices will require customization.
