my zen-cart is stuck in a sub-directory

I installed zen-cart using godaddy.com's install script. Basically you just kick it off and it does everything. Which is ok except the application is installed in a sub-directory. So the path is http://mysite.com/zencart I called godaddy and they suggested I create a .htaccess file with a 301 redirect. I really don't get this but I think I can do it. But isn't there another way? I saw the article on the zen-cart site: "I have installed Zen Cart to a directory. How do I rename or move that directory?" Which sounds simple enough but when I looked at the Session Directory, the path doesn't look like I expect it to. All I want is for my site to be live at http://mysite.com with no sub-directory reference. I've done alot of work and I don't want to screw it all up. What is the easiest way to do this? :frusty:

Using a FTP client you can move ALL content at /zencart up one level or to the "root" of your domain THEN edit the 2 configure.php files to reflect this move.

You might have to clear out the "root" level first of any files/folder names that might conflict

Before doing any of that you might do a forum search for your host and read some of the other experiences.

Hey llwilliams,

I'm doing the same thing now, where godaddy did the install and I want to make the cart my homepage. How did you do it?
