Multiple Featured Products Boxes?

For whatever reason, I have a Featured products box TIED to my Whats New box. (Turning off Whats new disables this particular featured products)
My featured products box displays 2 boxes.

Where do I look to figure out where this is coming from. I've looked in the tpl module files and dont see anything out of the ordinary. This is so weird!
