Somehow removed categories from page

Somewhere along the way in editing various configurations, I seem to have shut off the display of categories on the main area of the page - example: go here http://www.wildfiremarketinggroup.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2 and you should be able to see the sub cats.

What did I turn off? I can't for the life of me figure it out :censored:

What do you have for Configuration > Maximum Values > Categories To List Per Row, and Layout Settings > Categories - Always Show on Main Page and
Main Page - Opens with Category (this looks like you have it set to 2 - or maybe not)?

Definitely strange - when I go to /cart/ (your shop home page), I see the top category only in the categories menu (ok), but it is trying to display the product listing page as if that cat had no subcats. Clicking the top cat goes to the page you reference in your link.

Just checked...the cats per row is 3 and the cats on maikn page is set to 1, so it should display, right?

Yes, it should, but the attempt to display the listing page on the shop home page indicates that there is something going wrong in the code. Do you have any mods installed? Has it always been like this, or did it work correctly once?

No mods installed...
If it's something wrong with the code, what file would it potentially be?

Ok, it's not the files. I just uploaded the original files from a fresh download and we're having the same issue, so it has to be a setting somewhere. Is there anythign else I may have missed?

Not that I can think of.

You have two (possibly related) issues: the subcats are not displaying when the top cat is selected, and the code thinks that there is a top cat without subcats that it wants to display for the cart home page.
What is your Layout Settings > Main Page - Opens with Category set to?

I've tried leaving it blank, setting it to zero and setting a cat id#, none of which did anything.

I got it to work...what I had to do was install a fresh zen cart into another directory, open both admin panels and go item by item making everything back to default to sort it out by process of elimination. It was actually a combination of the settings you mentioned and a few others.
