automatic newsletter signup?

how do you remove the option to signup for the newsletter and set it so that every customer who makes a purchase is automatically added to the newsletter subscription?

thanks.

Re: automatic newsletter signup?

This might be considered as SPAM in some countries

They have the option to request this when creating an account and if allowed you can set this to checked

admin > config > customer details > Show Newsletter Checkbox

This looks fairly self explanatory and could be easily checked

How the checkbox is displayed and "0" it is not displayed

Show Newsletter Checkbox
0= off
1= Display Unchecked
2= Display Checked

Re: automatic newsletter signup?

yes i misread the quote > Note: Defaulting this to accepted may be in violation of certain regulations for your state or country thinking that 0 turned off the option to subscribe and automatically defaulted the customer to a subscription... when it obviously just means the subscribe box is checked (rather than unchecked). my bad.
