Zen Cart Search Engine

Can anybody shed some light why using the standard zen cart search box for "christmas" would turn up products where the word "christmas" appears no where in the description?

The built-in search engine currently includes the following sources:

product name
product description (if not unchecked from search on Adv Search page)
product model
product manufacturer name
product metatag keywords (as you've entered in the admin)
product metatag description (as you've entered in the admin)
