Product Reviews - Need help!

Hi,

I am trying to build a store where we want our customers to submit reviews of products. The problem is, due to the personal/intimate nature of the items, we dont want them using their real names.

Is there some way that they can specify a nickname when they sign up, and can I use this nickname as how they are identified when reviewing? Thank you :-)

:clap:

Re: Product Reviews - Need help!

My products aren't personal in nature, but most people don't want their name posted on the internet, so I want to use first names only. Since the database is built with fn and ln it should be easy. HA! Nothing has been easy! Two designers who both had great credentials, charged me a fortune, and screwed up my site :censored:...but I digress. :)

Anyone know how to do it or want to do it for me for $$$?

Thanks!

Re: Product Reviews - Need help!

Probably not the most elegant fix but it worked. I removed a letter from "lastname" in the following file:

/includes/templates/template_default/templates/
File Name: tpl_product_reviews_write_default.php
Code Line: zen_output_string_protected($customer->fields['customers_firstname'] . ' ' . $customer->fields['customers_lastname']);

It didn't fix existing reviews but all new reviews just have the first name
