Sales Tax Problem

I've set up the cart to only charge tax for the state of Idaho. This has worked so far until today. I received an order from Florida and the client was charged Idaho sales tax. Cannot find anything in the settings that would cause this to happen. Idaho is the only state listed for sales tax. Florida is not in there.

Any ideas?

Re: Sales Tax Problem

In Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zone Definitions, what zones have you defined?
When you click on the Details button for each zone, what states have you linked to it?

Re: Sales Tax Problem

As I recall, Flordia was the default tax zone set up when I installed Zencart.
I had to add my state, and remove Florida.

Re: Sales Tax Problem

Go to your phpMyAdmin ...

Browse the following tables and post what you see ...

Look at the table: geo_zones

Look at the table: tax_rates

Look at the table: zones_to_geo_zones

Re: Sales Tax Problem

Thanks, I believe I found the problem. The folder in the Locations/Taxes said Idaho, but when I clicked the folder, I found Florida inside. I've changed it to Idaho, so I am expecting that will be the fix.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Sales Tax Problem

Thanks for the update that running through the settings again located a different state than what you wanted to be taxing and that fixing the settings has resolved your issues ...
