Can I use hyphen instead of underscore when naming images for image handler 2?

I tested several ways to achieve multiple images of IH2, here are my test results:

Image directly under 'images' folder: additional images with both hyphen or underscore before suffix can be recognized

Image under subfolder: only underscore before suffix can be recognised

My problem is, all my images naming are using hyphen, and at the same time I would prefer uploading them to subfolders for easy management. Anyway that I can achieve multiple images with subfolder and hyphen before suffix??

I just noticed that there is another mod called swap image, it looks cool! Before my installation, I just want to confirm if it is compatible with IH2 which I have already installed? I do not want to make everything mess

And any more image modules would u recommend?
