attributes not appearing in shopping cart

We recently upgraded to 1.3.8 and have found that the attributes are not appearing in the shopping cart like they did when we were using 1.3.7. We are able to set up attributes and those appear just fine in the product display. Once the attribute for the product is selected and added to the cart, we can't see which attribute was selected. I have been troubleshooting this for days, searching the forum, comparing new and old code, retracing my steps in the attribute settings, values, names, looking at php templates for our shopping cart display, etc.

I'm sure it is a minor tweak that I am missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am by no means a programmer or even that well versed with Zen, but know just enough to get by. Thanks in advance.

What happens if you switch to the Classic Template? Do they work now?

I haven't tried that and am not sure I know what the ramifications would be if I switched? Before we upgraded we used a custom template too and the attributes worked great. We had a contractor who helped us with the original install look at the recent upgrade and unfortunately couldn't find anything out of the ordinary either. Is there an easy way to switch to classic and test the attributes without affecting the real-time website? Thanks for your help.

Turn off the SEO on your shop and see if they start working correctly ...

We received some help and it was a minor issue, so minor it took seconds to fix. The attribute code was not inside the form tag. Ugh! It's working now...yahoo!

Thanks Ajeh. We figured it out and wow it was something I didn't even know to look at. "the form tag" I appreciate your help though.

Thanks for the update and reporting back that somebody left the silly little attributes outside of the <form> tag ... :rolleyes:

Been there ... done that ... up to 4 T-shirts now ... :lamo:
