OMG, newbie stuck at step 2!!!

Hi, folks I'm trying to teach myself zencart but I've never done any server based stuff, so I'm a little confused.

I've FTP'd all my files to a folder on my domain (domain/zencart/) but now the instructions say to create two php files and change the permissions.

I'm sure it's more than creating two files with a .php extension. I thought I'd just run an install file or something, but I'm actually really, really lost.

Please help. All the boys at work said I'd never be able to to do it, but damn 'em. I will get it running by Monday... admittedly I'll need help, but if someone would be so kind as to point me in the right direction, I'd be really grateful. I have read everything, but I'm sure I'm missing something that actually activates it on the server. I would have thought going to the /zencart/ or /zencart/zc_install/ folders would automatically call up the index.php files...but apparently not!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Many thanks,
Shamby

Re: OMG, newbie stuck at step 2!!!

You don't need to create those files - they'll be created automatically when you run the installer.

So - upload the files, create your database, then point your browser to the root of your Zencart installation (yoursite/zencart in your case) and the installer will run. If you're not seeing the start installation page, let us know exactly what you are seeing.
