Product Pages won't update ! ! !

Consider me a newby although I have been using Zen (v1.3.5) for a couple of years. My IT whiz who did the original set-up is overseas for and unavailable for another several months.

When I go into a product page and make a change, I hit preview which looks fine, but neither the 'BACK' or 'UPDATE' buttons are functional, only the 'CANCEL' button works! In fact if I go into edit and make no changes it won't update either.

I have tried Explorer, Mozilla, no difference.

The only change I made prior was to clear out the admin history for the first time. Could I have messed something up there?

Could be and why this warming is prominent on that page:
WARNING: Be sure to backup your database before running this update!

I have no idea how to even do that ! ! !

All other functions seem to be fine, displays, purchases etc are working great.

I can even update EZ-pages no problem.

Any Ideas?

PS.

This update thing has been a problem before, seems like the correct combination of factors was required to get the pages to update.

For example, pasting anything on the page had to be in plain text using html, not html viewer or it would not update.

Sometimes Firefox would work where Explorer would not, or Vice Versa.

Any ideas?

I just realized that purging the logs is probably not the direct culprit. I did that last Friday, but was able to get in and update pages after that on Monday.

Ideas anyone?

More info.

One of the 8 products we have featured will update no problem, the other seven the 'BACK' and 'UPDATE' buttons simply do nothing.

Anyone have anything I can try?
