Hide default price for Price by Attribute products

I have several categories of products, some of which are priced by attribute and some of which are not. I need to hide the default price on the items that are priced by attribute without hiding the price on the others.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Hide default price for Price by Attribute products

On those products that you wish to "hide" the base price, you need to go to the PRODUCT EDIT screen for each product in question, and then:-

Set the price to 0.00
Click the YES radio button for "Product is priced by attributes"

Then, just make sure that the product's attributes are priced according to your needs, in the Attributes Controller for that specific product.

As the base price for that specific product is 0.00, the only price that will display is the assigned attribute price.

Re: Hide default price for Price by Attribute products

I have set up the products as you describe above, but that just defaults to the price of the lowest attribute being displayed as the price. Its very confusing to the potential customer, and to my client. Since there isn't a convenient way to make the price automatically upgrade on the product info page is there a way to just not have it appear?

(I am selling notecards that come as single cards and as packs of 4...The current display gives the impression that a single card is $2 and a pack is $2 +$8.00, when in reality it is only $8. This isn't a bug, its just an awkward way of displaying the information)

Re: Hide default price for Price by Attribute products

Try this... set up an attribute that is named something like "please select size below" or "not selected" , whatever pertains to your items.

Then do not assign a price value to the that attribute and sort it so it is the selected by default and shows up at the top of your selection dropdown.

Hope that helps
