Deleting Tax Zones: Safe?

Someone posed a question to me, but I wasn't sure how to answer.

Their shop is in South Carolina. They'll be charging state, county and local municipal taxes on their products. They won't be charging taxes anywhere else.

They want to know if they can delete everything else - like all the countries and the other states, and just leave South Carolina.

Now, I know they can, I just don't know if they should. Can anyone enlighten me? Would this be a bad idea?

Re: Deleting Tax Zones: Safe?

Are they shipping outside their own state? If so - do not delete the countries and other states. The example tax set up for Florida can be removed.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
