How often to you backup your zencart?

I'm just curious how often everyone backs up their zencart.

Right now I am doing mine monthly, or just before I start messing around with those ever so touchy php files.

Oh and how many backups to do you keep? I have 4 months worth, basically from the day I started my zencart. Do I need to keep all or should I only keep a few??

unless your futzing with the actual files you only need to DL them once,

you need to back upi your DB daily

Depending on the store/ client but generally I back up everytime there's a change.

I tell each new client, (in fact it's in their contracts), to email or phone me every time they make stock changes. Then I make 2 DB back-ups.
Either way I make sure backups are weekly.

I have been wondering this as well.

Also, what is the best way to back-up the zen-cart files, and then the db files?

I haven't backup yet so I need to start soon.

Files - FTP to your local machine (should do this anyway for editing etc) then copy to external HD and/ or CD
DB - Use phpMyAdmin to grab a copy and then include this on the disc also.

its in the DL then you just push a button in your ZC admin at the end of the day

DB??? DB add on??? Oh my :blush:... I do not think I have ever backed up my DB.. I usually just grab the whole zencart folder and back that up via FTP.

Where do I find this DB add on? Man I have so much to learn.

The addon file is in the downloads above, and in the admin section I think, I am going there now.
