Fake Account Customer Profile

Someone has created an account on my webstore and he is using a fake address and email (maybe his name too).

What can I do to prevent any visitor from entering fake email when creating a new account? What should I do about this fake profile? Should I just ban this account? Any advice?

Thanks.

Re: Fake Account Customer Profile

I've had clients on the conference site leave an obviously bogus email.

Fine.

Lots of folks are uber-tired of spam these days... If everything else more or less checks out, works for me.

Re: Fake Account Customer Profile

Some people may use your store to "test" the checkout process, or see what shipping may cost (if you don't have the shipping estimator active).

99.9% of such registrations are generally harmless. If you feel better about it, delete the account, but Merlin's probably right.

Re: Fake Account Customer Profile

This visitor with the fake account always visits my site. He/She always puts items the cart but has not check out. I hope he/she will buy it in the end. Hopefully.
