USPS options not showing up.

We have called USPS and asked them to move our account to the "Production server" and we put in the new account username that was given to us in the USPS shipping module on our site.. yet we still get this error.

We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)

And you set your 5 digit US Zip code to be?

And you have not set any Zones on the USPS shipping module?

And you have installed the May 12th Update to the USPS module and followed all instructions?

How do I set zones??

I am using zen cart version 1.3.8, do I still need to install that update.. if so where do i get it?

I am testing it using my account and we are shipping within the U.S. ... for that matter within the same state according to my account zip code and the zip code of the store.

Be sure that you called USPS to activate your account AFTER you received your valid USPS Web Tools User ID ...

ok, so I did everything stated above.. and it still was not working.

I did what the following thread suggested:

For now that "fix" will solve my issue. If my partner decides it is not good enough I will come back and ask for help again.

ok, my partner would like to provide more USPS shipping options than just first class.. any ideas? I have applied the May12th update.

Did you turn on the USPS shipping module and check the boxes? :smile:

When you install or edit the USPS shipping module, scroll down to all of the shipping methods available and check all of them or just the ones you want to use ...

Ah, yes.. all of those are checked.

Do you have a Zone set?

What weight are you shipping?

What is the Ship From and Ship To address?

What Maximum Weight and Tare weight settings are you using in the Shipping/Packaging?

I previously asked for instructions how to set a zone, no one ever provided this for me!!!

The weight of the product that is being used to test and see if the shipping calculator is working is 1.6 LBS

Shipping from a suburb of chicago to chicago

Max weight is set to 50, Tare Weight is set to 0:0

Right now, you do not see the USPS shipping module, correct?

If you edit the USPS shipping module, is it enabled?

Are you using Sort Orders on the Shipping Modules? If so, make sure all shipping modules use them and are not duplicated ...

Make sure only shipping modules being used are installed ...

If you have a Zone set, set that to NONE for testing ...

It is enabled.

Sort orders are all set to 0 for the shipping modules.

Only shipping modules being used are installed.. all others are disabled.

No Zones are set.

Did you call USPS and activate your account after you got the USER ID?

Make sure you are in Production and not Test mode as USPS test server is pretty flaky ...

I believe my partner called and had them activate the account. I will double check on that.

I have Production selected in the module. Do I need to have USPS do something on my account such as tell them we want to be in production mode?

Nope ... just need to give them your user id and tell them you need it activated for the production server ...

We are having the same problem. We installed USPS module the latest version, selected a zone, and entered the ship from zip code.
We also have the username from USPS and URL and activated the account. I then typed the Username into the "Enter the USPS Web Tools User ID"

My question is, USPS sent me a URL and I was not sure if that URL is also to go in the box for "Enter the USPS Web Tools User ID"?
