Correction: it is 1 and a half years since the first edition of the book was officially announced, minus 3 days.
And it has been updated with each updated release of Zen Cart since its publication, via online addendums freely available for download.
As to being worthwhile, if you have questions about the features and functionality available in the software or how to use those features, the book is the place to find all those answers.
Some call it the Administrators Guide to Zen Cart, because it covers all the topics related to configuring, using, and administrating Zen Cart, both in the startup/setup phase of getting your store's catalog functionality set up, as well as the daily operation of handling orders that have been placed, and so on.
You'll see numerous other forum posts written by people who have the manual, and they swear by it. Some have even said that it's always on their desk because they find it useful to refer to often when working with their various clients and answering their questions or setting up certain features they haven't used before, etc.
I suspect others will weigh in with their input as well ...
