Text is manipulated via CSS.
Images is a whole different story, you need to read the ZC tutorials on images, the Zen Cart Manual, and play around with contributions like Image Handler and/or Fual Slimbox, etc.

Which CSS file do I need to edit to make the text bigger.

If you ask this question it means that you have no idea how Zen Cart works.
Please don't take offense, it is just that you should start by reading the manual and setting up an override system, that is the basics.
If you do that, your question will be answered on its own.

dude, thanks fore being of no help!! I have read the manual... and did not see any mention of what CSS files would need to be edited. Is it not possible that I simply missed it??
I dont appreciate your rudeness.. if you are not willing to tell me the name and location of the css file I need to edit then I will just wait for someone who is willing to tell me what I need to know.
Thank you.

Dude,
I meant no offense, just chill down.
If you edit the main stylesheet you might lose your changes in the next upgrade, so edit the copy in your override folder.
Isn't that obvious if you read the manual?

I am confused!!!! I dont see any override folder.. can you try to explain this to me?

If you don't see an override folder, it means you didn't create it.
Therefore, as I suggested above, create an override system first.
There are plenty of tutorials in the tutorial area on how to do this, and it is also in the manual.
Next, you copy includes --> templates --> template_default --> css --> stylesheet.css to
includes --> templates --> CUSTOM --> css -->
and edit.

To ckosloff: Your advice was accurate but incomplete for a newby. You probably sent him or her off looking for a folder called "override". :ohmy:
To dvdd127: By now you've probably seen the tutorial or FAQ or manual pages relating to override folders. Whether or not you wish to implement that is entirely up to you. It makes life much easier in the future.
In either case you need to, as suggested by ckosloff, edit the stylesheet.css file found in the css folder of your template. There are many settings there which affect the size of text on your site, but I'm guessing you want all text everywhere to be a little larger. If my guess is correct, read on...
Very near the top of the stylesheet you'll see something like this:
body {
margin: 0;
font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 62.5%;
color: #000000;
background-color: #e5edf5;
}
That's from the v1.3.8a stylesheet. You can increase the font-size setting, and it will increase all the text everywhere, unless a later declaration takes precedence for some elements. For a lot of reasons I don't want to get into here, I recommend changing 65% to about 80%. But choose whatever setting you like. Just be sure to look at the result in multiple browsers and several machines with different size screens and different pixel settings on those screens, so you can see what your site visitors will see.

My advice would be to first download the Web Developer toolbar for Firefox. This add-on will allow you to select different elements in your pages, allowing you to easily identify where the various css elements are located.
If you are properly using the override system, your main CSS file should be
/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css
Hope this helps!

i created a new "about us" page through this tutorial -- http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=182. the about us link works fine however my content does not appear. when i highlight the general area of text, it still doesn't appear. but i'm still hoping that changing the font color will fix it since my overall background is almost black. how do i do change the font color?

If your page shows in the define pages editor you could do an inline style.
Example:

jenn8five,
is this going to be a global style or a style defined only for this page? like ckosloff said, an inline style will work via the define pages editor for this specific page. if you're planning on making global changes, the file you want to edit is
/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css
