Trying to sell highly customized products
Hi all,
I was wondering if Zen Cart would work for our purposes.
We're selling abstract items (space on a website honestly) where we'll need to collect a number of free-form bits of data from the buyer (logo, text blurb, a date) as well as some 'additional cost" options (bold listing, for instance).
I've been looking at various classified ad software, but The Powers That Be insist on what they call "The Crate & Barrel" shopping cart experience and none of the classified ad software that I've looked at includes that kind of payment system. (Add a bunch of stuff to a shopping cart, then pay all at once).
Does Zen Cart offer enough flexibility for me to shoe-horn this kind of product into it? Customizing isn't off the table; I'm a PHP developer. Just trying to avoid building everything from scratch, and of course the more 'out of the box' functionality I can use, the better.
TIA for any info.
