I changed the text in "includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php" and moved it to "includes/languages/english/MY_TEMPLATE_NAME/shopping_cart.php". Now I have a blank page showing. Any help will be appreciated.

A blank page is symptomatic of a PHP error caused by your customizations.
