Categories on main page

I looked around and saw quite a few similar questions but I still have the same problem after using all of the advice I found. I updated the site so I can establish columns but for some reason when my categories and subcategories list they go straight down instead of 3 across. It use to have 3 across but I dont know what happened. When my products list they list 3 across though. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Categories on main page

This is not actually your "main page" but a listing of categories in cpath=1

Check your setting in admin > config > maximum values > Categories To List Per Row > set to no more than 2 due to your category image size

Re: Categories on main page

Thanks for the help. I do have it set for two. I will try to look at my css when I get home. Where exactly would I see that float: left?
