Adding one product to multiple categories

I’m building a web site using Zen Cart for the first time. My client sells boots and would like to have their boots searchable using the following categories: 6 Inch , 8 Inch, Womens, Mens, BNSF approved, UP Approved, Steel Toe, Non Steel Toe

Of course one boot most likely would fall under several categories “6 Inch:”, have a “Steel Toe” “Womens” and be “BNSF approved”. Can add products then link them to each category they belong in or do I have to create categories and then add products underneath (making it boot #233 the product is added 4 times) in the system so that it appears under each category.

Any help on this would be sincerely appreciated!

You can do it either way.

You create a product in a category, then you can 'link' it to other categories or 'copy' it to other categories.
