PayPal eCheck, status update when it clears - v.1.3.7.1

Hi guys,

When a customer's echeck clears, the status remains "Pending Payment". Is there a mod that can be done to make the status change to "Processing" once the echeck clears?

Currently I just go through looking for Pending orders to see if they ever cleared. But this isn't just a waste of time, I also miss some once in a while. Anyone know how to mod the function that receives the notification?

I couldn't find the PayPal IPN version but I looked at the information at the head of the ipn_main_handler.php and saw the following:

You said PayPal IPN. Does that mean you're not using Express Checkout?

Yes, that's right. I have PayPal IPN turned on, and Express Checkout turned off in the shipping modules screen of the admin panel.

There have been some reports of people having problems with echeck updates. I know there were changes to address some issues found in 1.3.6 and 1.3.7 ... I thought those were included in 1.3.7.1. I think there may have been some updates to it in 1.3.8, but most of those (for PayPal) were largely the 1.3.7.1 updates rolled into the new version with a few improvements to also support Website Payments Pro.
The last time I tested echecks with 1.3.8 they worked just fine. You might consider installing a test 1.3.8a site to see whether echecks work better there for you, and then if they do, you could work on an upgrade.

Drat! That wasn't the answer I wanted to hear.

I think I'm going to check into the modules and functions for both versions and see if I can find out what's going on.
